Fall of the Gods cast
Rakoth

Allegiance: N/A
Unit: N/A
Rakoth is the most hated person among the Generation. Long ago, he was a young mage, promising but arrogant, self-confident and entirely uncontrollable. He also sought knowledge - especially forbidden one. Rakoth studied the power of Darkness secretly and became the Dark Lord. His newfound power has gone to his head and he started a rebellion against the Generation's Conclave and the Young Gods themselves, using the various monsters he created during his studies, as well as a massive following among other races - however, none of the True Magi have supported him. At times he was successful, with his dark armies almost storming into the Hallowed Land, at times he was beaten and driven back to his citadel in the Netherworlds. Despite what the Conclave's propagation was telling about him, he was not tyrannical or corrupt. While he was harsh in the matters of war, he was generous to his friends and magnanimous to mere humans. Ultimately, he was crushed and captured; his citadel was levelled, his followers were scattered, his body was incinerated and his sould was put into a Stasis Cell for all eternity. However, even now, over a thousand years after Rakoth's defeat, the results of Rakoth's works still remain evident in many parts of the world - weapons made by his smiths are sometimes unearthed, and creatures of war he created or tamed continue to exist. Some have mutated beyond recognition and some remain in the form Rakoth gave them. Some have forgotten their master or turned to the side of his enemies, and some still await his command as they lay dormant in the deepest reaches of the universe.

Merlin

Allegiance: Generation Conclave
Unit: N/A
Merlin is the head of the Conclave - and thus of the entire Generation - and a firm supporter of the Young Gods. Apart from formidable power, he is known for his strategic talent and cunning mind. Merlin could have been an excellent chess player - he can calculate the movements of his enemies years ahead and plan his own actions accordingly. If he has a weaker side, however, it is his wish always to score a fine victory and humiliate his opponent.

Hedin

Allegiance: Hedinsey Militia
Unit: Ghost, Wraith
Hedin is the second worst thorn in the side of the Generation. He doesn't possess some great powers, but he more than makes up for this by being blessed with inquisitive spirit, thirst for knowledge and cunning. During the Generation's early years, he was famous for finding unexpected solutions to the tests he had to go through, as well as causing a lot of mischief among his peers. Later, he studied with Rakoth and gained the alias of Knowing the Darkness. Surprisingly, the two mages have become rather close friends - no other mage could call himself a friend of Rakoth. However, Hedin did not support Rakoth's rebellion and they fell out. Still, Hedin did not join with the rest of the Generation in their war on Rakoth and he voted against the will of the Conclave when his friend's fate was being decided. To punish him, Merlin made Hedin read the sentence to Rakoth. The head of the Conclave wanted to humiliate both friends, but this wish played a foul trick with him - the humiliation pushed Hedin over the edge and he secretly vowed to destroy Merlin for this. Shortly afterwards, Hedin started his own uprising and founded the Empire of Night in the Eastern Hjorvard, placing his capital city on the island of Hedinsey. However, this empire didn't last long as it was crushed by the Generation. Since Hedin hasn't caused as much trouble as Rakoth, he was not imprisoned but simply deprived of his powers and exiled back into Hjorvard for one thousand years. During this time he was roaming the land, secretly gathering knowledge and experience and preparing his return. Now his exile has just ended, and he returns into the big game with new knowledge and old hatred in his heart. Hedin has carefully designed his grand plan of deposing Merlin and challenging the Young Gods, and now this plan was set in motion.
"Oh yeah, darling? Maybe we could remember how we were studying together and knew no discord? Or maybe I can remember of how to survive in the arctic winter when you have no power over fire, by the will of the merciful Conclave? Just stay a while and listen - maybe it'll come in handy some day..."

Sigerlynn

Allegiance: Generation Conclave
Unit: Ghost
Sigerlynn is the second in command of the Conclave. Beautiful, proud and defiant, she serves Merlin eagerly, but she also has her own goals. Long ago, she and Hedin loved each other, and worked together in the Generation's studies. It seemed that they would be together till the end, but after Hedin started studying the dark magic, Sigerlynn saw this as a threat to the Generation and abandoned him. Over time, their love turned into bitter rivalry. When Hedin's rebellion started, Merlin, as always, tried to humiliate Hedin and so he sent Sigerlynn to destroy the Empire of Night and challenge Hedin on a duel. Sigerlynn won, and Hedin was brought to stand trial before the Conclave. Hedin didn't forget this, and this humiliation fueled his hatred - as did the bitter memories of his only bright feeling in his entire life. No one knows what Sigerlynn is thinking, but when Hedin returned from his exile, she was carefully trying to re-establish at least formal relations with Hedin, and dissuade him from rebelling again. However, she did not succeed, so she turned to her other interests and other ways of achieving what she wants.

Hagen

Allegiance: Hedinsey Militia
Unit: Ghost
Hagen is Hedin's last Apprentice, named after Hedin's other apprentice, Hagen von Tronje. Despite his young age, he is a fierce warrior and a natural born leader. Born in a backwater town, he was raised by Hedin who saw him as a perfect harbinger of his own ascension - but at the same time, the Mage grew very fond of his Apprentice, replacing father for him. Hagen's mother was an alcohol addicted prostitute so she didn't really care for her son, and was glad to hand her responsibility over to Hedin. When Hagen was in the age of eleven, she was killed during the pirate raid on the town, and vengeance was Hagen's first test. Hagen passed it flawlessly - during the night he sneaked into the inn where the pirate gang was staying, and killed almost twenty brigands in their sleep using just his dagger. Almost immediately, Sigerlynn met Hagen and Hedin and tried to dissuade Hagen from following his Teacher, but all she got in return was a lump of dirt Hagen flung at her. Hagen generally admires Sigerlynn's beauty, but sees her as his worst enemy. After that incident, Hedin took his Apprentice to his old friend Khroft. When Hagen turned sixteen, Hedin and Hagen departed for the Trade Republic to start carrying out their plan, the first move of which was retaking Hedinsey Island from the Guarded Kingdom. Now, some eight years after that, Hagen is holding the position of Thane of Hedinsey in alliance with the Guarded Kingdom, and his militia is almost 7000 people strong. This force is well-known throughout Hjorvard for its exceptional training, high morale and firm discipline. If the Hedinsey Militia is storming a city, civilians can be sure that no all-out plundering and rape would ensue after the city is taken. And they can also be sure that the city will fall to Hedinsey Militia in the end, no matter the resistance. Hagen is always seen in the front lines, inspiring courage in the hearts of his soldiers.

Old Khroft

Allegiance: Hedinsey Militia
Unit: Marine
Hedin discovered Old Khroft several centuries after the Generation started. He immediately became interested in the strange hermit dwelling deep in the woodlands of Eastern Hjorvard. Khroft was spending months and years drinking ale, hunting, practicing simple enchantments and apparently musing over something that Hedin could not understand. The seal of the Gods' wrath was on Khroft, and at first, he thought that Hedin was a spy - Hedin was very surprised to see such suspicion. But gradually, he became quite fond of the young wizard who was seemingly the only person who visited the old man in his hut. Once, after having drunk more than usual, Khroft started using the strange words that Hedin could not understand, like "Midgard" and "Bifrost". When Hedin finally brought himself to asking about this, Khroft took him to his stables and showed Hedin his horse which was the fabled Sleipnir. Hedin was very surprised to find out that Khroft was actually Odin, the leader of the Old Gods who were overthrown by the Young Gods millenia ago. He was the only survivor of the Aesir, apparently spared by the plea of Jalini, and deprived of his powers. Khroft told Hedin the true history of the world, and thus Hedin decided that he should not follow the Gods, so he started to study dark magic. Old Khroft was his only companion during the exile, and when Hagen appeared, Khroft helped Hedin to raise his Apprentice - now he sees him as a worthy companion in arms. Maybe Hagen reminds him of his own golden days when he and his brethren ruled the world - who knows? Now, as Hedin is preparing his assault on the Gods, Khroft stands firmly by his side, seeing Hedin's plan as the only chance to take revenge on those who slayed his brethren and ruined his kingdom.

Bran

Allegiance: Hjorvard Denizens
Unit: Ghost
Bran is a marshall of the woodlands in the central part of Eastern Hjorvard. He's a wanderer and explorer, and seldom stays at home. He is especially fond of the forest, and there are rumors that he has some knowledge of magic, like travelling across the forest much faster than one would expect, or sensing threats to him and his land. But even if he does possess such knowledge, it stems from nature rather than the arcane teachings of the True Magi.

Advisor

Allegiance: Hedinsey Militia
Unit: None
Hedin found this clever and loyal assistant during his journeys shortly before his exile. When his power was given back to him, he immediately re-established contact with this strange entity. Hedin calls him Advisor because he doesn't know his real name, if he has any. Advisor is remarkable for his ability to monitor and record magical activities all over the world for later study. Thus, any spell cast anywhere in the World Sphere can be logged and analyzed by the Advisor, who can inform Hedin of the enchantment's weak points and possible counterspells very quickly. Thus, Advisor is one of the main aces in Hedin's sleeves as Hedinsey Militia is preparing to meet the enemy magic. Advisor is also keeping eye on Hedinsey's defenses and magical traps. On the personal side, he is rather cowardly and tends to lose his balance when things get rough, so Hedin has to bring him back to senses by threats or promises of pay rise.

Orlangur the Great

Allegiance: None
Unit: None
Only a selected few know of this mysterious entity's existence. Orlangur is the immortal essence of knowledge and cognition, and he is usually called Spirit of Knowledge. He seldom interferes in the affairs of the World Sphere, preferring to watch from the shadows, and learn the laws and ways of events. When he decides to intervene, he does so through the use of avatars, sometimes offering advice to the wise, and sometimes plunging into the storm of events. However, such occasions have been extremely rare.
